A clear and precise statement which tells us exactly where we stand.

Jan uses DecoArt paints and Royal Brushes but substitutes would be quite easy.
There is a comprehensive supply and source list for both the USA and Australia and detailed General Instructions along with painting terms and techniques well set out in the front of the book. Instructions are giving for painting on a variety of surfaces including glass, soap and plastic. There are also several pages devoted to painting Jan`s roses which explaines the layered stencil approach she developed to make it easier for everyone to achieve her beautiful roses.

The line drawings are detailed yet easy to follow and the colour worksheets are works of art in themselves, you will find one entirely devoted to roses and hydrangeas along with another on pansies irises and more.

There are 19 projects in all, they are:
Summer Picnic: (Tray, Glasses, Napkin Holder - front cover - )
Pansies and Old Lace: (Fan. Soap, Box, hairbrush set, Tassel topper and Doily)
Monet`s Path: Framed picture and Candle
Hydrangea Harmony: ( hat, plaque, pot and garden tools - back cover - )
Teeny Tiny Rose Bouquets: (Clock, Bottle or Gift Tag and Candle Dish)

Jan`s pretty but distinct style is evident everwhere in this book and should have appeal to a wide range of painters, Her use of colour and clear, conscise instructions along with more unusual painting surfaces such as rafia hats and paper fans make this book a must have for the serious painter as well as someone who just likes to look at pretty books.
