Hi, thanks for coming to meet me. I live in an outer Eastern suburb of Melbourne, in the state of Victoria, in Australia. I have lived in Melbourne all my life and wouldn't live anywhere else. I have been painting now for about 9 years, but events over the past couple of years have meant I have not painted or taught much lately. I am a breast cancer survivor (2004) and lost my son in Feb 2007, so life has handed me a few challenges.
Although I had always done crafts of all kinds, I didn't think I had any "artistic" ability and had never tried painting. I finally decided to take a few Folk Art lessons when I needed some help to decorate some ceramic pieces I was making. From the first class I was hooked and I never did go back to
ceramics!
I am very grateful that I discovered this wonderful pursuit as it opened up a wonderful new world for me. Not only did I discover that I could paint after all, I acquired a whole new career as a
Decorative Artist, teacher and designer and have made many wonderful and valued friends along the way.
A regular contributor to our Australian "Folk Art and Decorative Painting" I have also been published in the American Magazines "Toleworld" and "Painting". I also have my own book published by American publisher, Viking Publications "Dreams of My Fragrant Garden".
I have been privileged to be offered many opportunities both in and out of Australia to travel and teach. I taught at the several SDP National conventions, Creative Painting in Vegas, in New Zealand and many chapters along the way.
